Fault Lines was inspired by a field trip to Arkaroola, South Australia. I was drawn to the traces of deep time etched into the landscape. Weathered rock faces, ancient fault lines and shifting formations shaped over millennia by erosion and tectonic forces. The striking shapes found within the rocks were magnetic. Standing in this vast desert landscape, I was reminded of both its immense scale and my own smallness within it. Rich reds and deep maroons were chosen to reflect the energy and enduring presence of this ancient place.
